Q. What visa documentation is required after being selected for the course?

Q. What degree would be awarded for these programs? Is that degree accredited?
A. Students will be awarded degrees from Greenwich University Pakistan Mauritius Branch Campus, duly recognized by the Tertiary Education Commission of Mauritius, and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. Greenwich University Credits are acceptable all over the world.
Q. What is Tertiary Education?
A. Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) is the accrediting body for all private and public sector universities in Mauritius. Greenwich University is the only Pakistani University recognized from Tertiary Education Commission Mauritius (accreditation is renewable on yearly basis).

Q. What is higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan?
A. HEC is the accrediting body for all private and public sector universities in Pakistan. Greenwich is in the top most category of HEC, which is “W”, formerly called “A” category.

Q. What is the credit system being followed for the assessment of your regular programs?
A. We follow the globally accredited credit system for the assessment. The student has to take 36 teaching hours sessions for each subject and each subject is equivalent to 3 credits.
Q. How many semesters are the in a year?
A. There are three semesters in a year at Greenwich.
  • Fall - March to June
  • Summer - July to October
  • Winter - November – February
Q. When does the admission process start at Greenwich?
A. Admission dates are announced on the website and in major newspapers. Admissions are open three times in a year for Fall (Jan-Feb), Winter (Sep-Oct) and Summer term (May-Jun).
Q. Can a student awaiting result apply for the program?
A. Yes, however they have to complete their file with all academic records within a semester of their studies at Greenwich; this is in addition to the condition that the students have no deficiency in the previous years of their academic qualification.
Q. Who should be asked to write the recommendation letters?
A. Junior or Senior year teachers who know the applicant well should write the recommendation letters. Applicants may also choose someone other than blood relatives to write the recommendation letter who knows the applicants abilities.
Q. Will you provide professional counseling and help for applying Mauritius visa?
A. Yes, our counsellors will help you to resolve any of your issues pertaining to admission to Greenwich University Pakistan Mauritius Branch Campus. It will help you get answers to all your queries and aid in getting a clear perspective for your future.
Q. Can an applicant after admission defer studies for admission?
A. Yes, applicant must in writing request deferment and specify which semester he/she would like to resume studies.
Q. What About Accommodation?
A. Nearby Campus Accommodation is available according to preference and budget which is safe, comfortable and provide excellent value for money. Accommodation Caters all needs and preferences, uniquely adapted rooms are available for special need students.
Average per month accommodation (twin sharing) including attached bath, TV Lounge, dining room and kitchen is starts from 150 USD Per month.
Q. What is the schedule of classes at Greenwich?
A. The time table slots are 10-01, and 2:00-5:00 (depends upon the class slot). The faculty for core courses sometime opts to take classes on Saturdays and Sundays for Master and Executive Courses, the same is notified in the beginning of the term.
Every week there is a 3-hour class of each course including 20 minutes break. Total 12 classes (36 teaching hours), one Midterm, and one Final exam is also a part of course study.
Q. Is there any financial assistance program at Greenwich?
A. It is our pride and pleasure to offer 40% Scholarship for the first year of enrolment. Also, Financial assistance is given to students based on need and merit. There is some fee waiver for siblings also. Details can be obtained from the office of the Bursar. A financial assistance form is required to be filled in with attachments to qualify for consideration during the second term of studies. Students with Cumulative Grade Point Average of 3.8 on scale of 4 are given 25% scholarship on tuition fees.

A. Accreditation is a system for recognizing educational qualification as defined by the profession or other accrediting bodies.
Q. What are the Sports Facilities?
A. Free of cost Sorts Facilities are available for the students of Greenwich University at Synergy Sports and Wellness Institute, Moka, Mauritius.
Outdoor Sports I.e. Tennis, Swimming, Yoga, Dance Classes, Gymnasium, Football, badminton etc. & Indoor facilities, Snooker, Chess, Table Tennis, fireball etc.
Q. What are the Medical Facilities?
A. Free of cost Sorts Facilities are available for the students of Greenwich University at Synergy Sports and Wellness Institute, Moka, Mauritius. Regular Physical, Psychological Counselling Sessions for students, Monthly Medical Checkups along with students insurance cover is also available for students.
Q. What resources are available for choosing carrier paths and internships?
A. Greenwich has well established Corporate Placement Office. The office arranges placements and internships for students at various national and multinational organizations including foreign and local banks. Internship program lasts for 6 – 8 weeks. Internships are structured so that students can apply their classroom knowledge to a practical work setting.
Q. Can a prospective student attend a classroom session?
A. Yes, applicants are welcome to sit in classes for short duration of half an hour after taking approval from the communication center on the recommendation of the Counselor.
Q. How does academic advising work at Greenwich?
A. Permanent faculty members are academic counselors / advisors at Greenwich. They assist and guide students with program planning and help them in learning policies and procedures, fulfilling graduation requirements on time, explaining transfer of credit process information. Students are advised to consult them on regular basis through the reception on all the issues.
Q. Do you have other extracurricular activities?
A. Yes. We do have lots of activities every semester which also include regular foreign trips of students and faculty.
Q. What is social life on campus?
A. There is a wide variety of options: concerts, sport events, distinguished guest speakers, and extracurricular activities like movie and cricket shows, caricature competitions, singing and, debates, speeches, etc.
Q. What is the transfer of credit policy at Greenwich University?
A. Applicants can transfer their credits from other universities. The university has to be recognized by their country board. Only B and higher grades are transferable. Undergraduate transfer students must complete 50% of their studies at Greenwich to take the degree.

Q. What are the learning facilities in the campus?
A. The degree programs are the base of learning. It’s a purpose-built campus and all the class rooms are fully equipped to bring them up to modern standards. The classes are air conditioned with installed multimedia. There is a Central library (on campus and students have access to a wide range of electronic data bases and e-books), Cafeteria, photocopy, & bookshop, Computer Lab, Student guidance desk, Parking, Indoor Sports i.e. Snooker, Table Tennis, Chess etc. The whole Campus is wifi. Students can print their documents for free.
Q. What degree would be awarded for these programs? Is that degree accredited?
A. Students will be awarded degrees from Greenwich University, duly recognized by the Tertiary Education Commission of Mauritius, and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan. the degree is acceptable all around the world.

Q. As an international student, what would be my possible expenses during my program?
A. You are required to pay for accommodation, food, insurance, travel and living expenses, including text books and study materials. It would vary according to spending habits of an individual. Normally it is to the tune of 300-500 MUR per month.
Q. As an International student, how do I handle my money matters when at Mauritius?
A. Carrying a traveler's check is advisable. You can also transact through ATM cards. Visa and MasterCard are also accepted at maximum places.
Q. Can I open a bank account in Mauritius?
A. In order to open a Mauritian bank account, you will need your passport, a letter from the institution confirming that you are a student and a document confirming your address in Mauritius (for example a contract for accommodation). It is also helpful to bring information about your bank account(s) and evidence of your address in your home country .
Q. What is the preparation required on my end for getting enrolled in the program?
A. Fill in your application form and gather all the documents related to traveling abroad viz. Passport, visa clearance etc. It is also of importance to thoroughly study the country before leaving.

Q. What is the arrival procedure?
A. On arrival at the fair venue, please make your way to the registration desk. Here you will be able to collect a fair guide, name badges (if not available at the information desk, you should be able to find them at your working space), ask for assistance in locating your working space and/or any other general questions you might have.
Q. What are the National Language and other common languages?
A. Creole is the national language and beside this there are multi languages speaking here like English, Hindi, Urdu & French etc.
Q. What are the National Currency?
A. Mauritian Rupee.
Q. Can I pay in instalments?
A. Yes. You can pay your first-year fees in easy instalments, one at the beginning of each term. Or you can pay in full for your first year when you start the programme so that you can have advantage of more fee discount.
Q. I cannot arrive in time for the first few days of the Semester. Can I start the Semester one or two weeks later?
A. Yes, at your own risk. It will be your sole responsibility to catch up for lectures and/or practical missed. Normally such requests are not accepted after 2 weeks from the start of the semester.
Q. What is the Medium of Instruction?
A. he medium of instruction is English.
Q. How many students will there be in a classroom?
A. The maximum number of students per classroom will be 25.
Q. Is there Internet access in all faculty-housing apartments?
A. Yes.
Q. Does GU offer skill based courses (short courses)??
A. Greenwich University offers soft skill courses for its students i.e. personality grooming, presentation and communication skills, public speaking skills etc.
